Join Eamonn Mullally on this Walk to discover how the Thames has shaped the people of the City, who have in turn shaped the course of the river across almost 2,000 years. Along the way we will meet Samuel Pepys and explore together some of the places he knew. We explore churches and their links to the maritime community. Wonder at the magnificence architecture of the building we see and talk about their links with the river and the sea beyond. Visit the memorials to Seaman who gave their lives standing up for freedom on the high seas. Stroll along the River talking about the legacy of what was once both the biggest port in the world, at the epicentre of the geographically largest Empire in history. We end where it all started with the Romans, close to London Bridge with Monument tube station just a short walk away.
