Join Ildiko Bita for a tour of the medieval world of Thomas Becket, the London boy who became a saint.

2020 was the 900th anniversary of his birth and 850th anniversary of his death and as the City of London hosts a medieval pageant in Guildhall Yard to celebrate these anniversaries, we will explore the London Becket would have known  – more colourful and cruel than you imagine.

We will visit the house where Becket was born and learn about his family, his rise to power and his chilling death.  We will hear about the sights and smells of 12th century London when old St Paul’s Cathedral was being built, knights embarked on Crusades and pilgrims flocked to shrines hoping for a miracle.
