London is proud of its diversity and in the Immigrant London walk Ildiko Bita tells the stories of the immigrants and refugees who came to London and made it their home  – the entrepreneurs, the faithful, the craftsmen, and the children, all in search of a better life.   It is a story of riots, rebels and refugees – of success, prejudice and assimilation.

The walk begins at St Paul’s Cathedral and we will hear about the Jewish population of London, populist riots against foreigners, a Russian SOE agent, an American philanthropist, the Huguenots who financed the king and a Dutchman who tried to stop the Great Fire of London. We will also hear about how at times London feared foreigner, but how they welcomed refugees.  The walk takes about 2 hours and will end at Liverpool St Station.

This walk is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
