Introduction to the City

This walk will give you  a high-level introduction to the City of London from the Romans to the world largest International Financial Centre including a glimpse into the story about what happened along the way.

We start on the steps of the Royal Exchange, talk about the Bank of England followed by stops where we discover the role coffee has played in creating the institutions the City we see today, going on to appreciate the stories behind the Churches, Office Buildings and Livery companies we meet along the way. Ending with an introduction to the seat of City’s political power across the last 800 years at Guildhall Yard from where it is a short walk to St Pauls Tube station or back to Bank.
